Ingredients

  • 0.5 cups smooth peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 0.5 teaspoons chili powder
  • 0.3 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 3 tablespoons warm water

Method

  1. Melt the peanut butter and honey together: Add 0.5 cups smooth peanut butter and 2 tablespoons honey to a small saucepan over low heat. Whisk slowly until it loosens up and looks glossy, about 2 minutes. Pull it off the heat once there are no streaks of honey left.
  2. Whisk in the rest of the sauce: While still warm, whisk in 2 tablespoons mayonnaise, 1 tablespoons soy sauce, 1 tablespoons apple cider vinegar, 0.5 teaspoons chili powder, and 0.3 teaspoons garlic powder. Keep whisking until smooth with no streaks. Taste — it should be sweet, salty, and a little tangy.
  3. Loosen it up with water: Add 3 tablespoons warm water one tablespoon at a time, whisking after each addition, until the sauce drips slowly off a spoon instead of clumping. Taste once more, then it's ready to drizzle, spoon, or dip.

Notes

Use smooth peanut butter for the classic restaurant-style texture; swap in chunky for extra bite. Store in a sealed container in the fridge for up to a week — stir well before reusing, since it can separate slightly.
